Sorry, but I won’t be joining you in your protest or boycott

It seems everywhere you turn your head these days there is a protest of one sort or another. Let’s see… there are the NFL players protesting the National Anthem, there are people protesting the NFL because of those NFL player protest. There are people protesting the Confederate statues and also people who are protesting the people protesting the statues (pro-Confederate/Old South values). Additionally, there are many businesses that people boycott for one belief or another.

I am not the most political person in the world, but I definitely have my opinions. I have always considered myself pretty moderate politically, not leaning extremely left or right. Yes, I have tended to vote Democrat most of the time, but when you have people like this bozo running for office it is an easy choice. In my opinion, the Democrats usually have the better of the two candidates.

House Bill 2 a year later – now even dumber than ever

It’s been almost a year since the North Carolina general assembly passed the controversial, stupid and discriminatory House Bill 2 (or HB2) also infamously known as the “bathroom bill”.

Since the bill passed in late March 2016, millions of lives of innocent bible thumping North Carolinians have been saved from evil transgender terrorist attacking and harrassing our women and children in bathrooms. Think goodness HB2 was passed by the Republican majority in the house and senate and signed by then governonr Pat McCrory to keep people safe! All is good and merry now in North Carolina thanks to the passing of the overwhelmingly popular bill!

The Good

Roy Cooper was recently elected the governor of North Carolina and he is the best choice to get the state back on track after helping to repeal HB2, bring back businesses and entertainment events that left the state due to HB2 and overall his leadership will make North Carolina great again (MNCGA).

My favorite part about North Carolina is the pro-economy, the diversity of the people of North Carolina and the over-all friendly-ness and progressive nature of the State. We took a hit from the last four years of Pat McCrory and the Republican legislature, but as Roy Cooper himself said, he will make it a priority for businesses, events, and people to “Come Back to Carolina” after the disaster that was Pat McCrory.

Soooo…. the election is now over and it didn’t exactly go as I thought it would (for that matter not like most people thought apparently). I wanted Hillary to win. Not because I am a huge Hillary Clinton fan, but because of the two candidates, I agreed with her policies more than I did with Trump, I thought she would be a better person to bring together a divided country and additionally she had much more foreign policy experience than Trump. After the election results, I was stunned, disappointed and maybe even a little butt hurt.

The civil unrest continues…

Charlotte Protest

The recent events that have unfolded in Charlotte, North Carolina are unsettling and disturbing. A man was shot and killed by police, which brought out protesters and in some case rioters in the Queen city, the largest city in North Carolina. A modern city wich is a banking hub and home to sports franchises, the Carolina Panthers (NFL) and Charlotte Hornets (NBA) as well as home to NASCAR.

This was just the latest in a string of violence between the police and black men over the last several years where black men have been killed by police officers and it has been on social media, filmed on camera phones, played out in the media and lead to protest in the particular city where it took place. This has lead to a divided nation and no trust between the police officers and the communities in which they serce.

I’m with her, because I am certainly NOT with him!

I am probably never going to be the biggest Hilary Clinton supporter. I tend to vote Democrat, but she has never been my favorite. I think she did a good job as Secretary of State and was admirable as First Lady, but my choice of the Democratic nominee would be stronger towards Joe Biden if he decided to run or Bernie (Feel the Bern) Sanders.

It’s not that I don’t trust Hillary. Email scandal aside, I think she is trustworthy, intelligent, experienced and she would be good with diplomacy and for the most part, make good decisions as POTUS.

Stupid is as stupid does.This is how I feel about N.C Governor McCrory and the N.C legislature putting HB2 (House Bill 2) on the books in March 2016. Since the bill was signed into law, my birth state of North Carolina and residence for the past twenty plus years has become a laughing stock for the rest of the Nation due to the silly law that states among other things that a transgender person must use the bathroom according to their birth certificate, not according to how they identify.
