About This Site
As I mentioned on the home page , I created this site to display my CSS , XHTML , PHP and Flash skills. I also use this site to test new technologies and ideas that relate to web development, such as , AJAX and JavaScript Libraries like Script.aculo.us.
With this site, I also want to educate people on web site accessibility according to section 508 guidelines , optimizing your site to be SEO friendly to achieve higher search engine rankings, and proper XHTML mark-up. You will also find many helpful links to other sites on web site development, accessibility, search engine optimization, and sites that I find interesting and amusing. Lastly, I hope this site helps me to gain meaningful, challenging, rewarding freelance employment opportunities .
I created this site using , BBEdit on the Mac. No WYSIWIG programs were used. All old fashioned hand coding! The graphics were done in Adobe Photoshop.
In the future I plan to add more PHP/MySQL features, as well as style sheet switching to change the look of the site. In addition, I am going to add a print style sheet to make the site more print friendly.
You will notice, I have also included quite a few external links to other sites which I believe web designers and techies will find informative and useful. You will be leaving my beloved site when you click on one of these links, but I don't care. I have confidence that you can find your way back if you want to :-) .
