AJAX

  

AJAX is a fancy term for being able to move and drag shit around :-)

AJAX actually isn't anything new since it has been available since Internet Explorer 5 came out back in the late 1990's

Even though the technology to produce AJAX applications has been around a shile, the term AJAX only came out recently

Coined by Jesse James Garrett of Adaptive Path. AJAX is actually a combination of the following web technologies:

• standards-based presentation using XHTML and CSS;
• dynamic display and interaction using the Document Object Model
• data interchange and manipulation using XML and XSLT;
• synchronous data retrieval using XMLHttpRequest;
• JavaScript binding everything together.
